Steriline Starts in May, and a visit to Hawkesbury

A great start to May, with safer, consistent and efficient starts around the globe thanks to Steriline starting races in the United States, Hong Kong and around Australia.

The world watched on as history was made at the annual Kentucky Derby, from an exciting finish comes an even break through a Steriline start.

With service, quality, longevity and durability at the forefront we make sure the starting gates are always working as they should.

Steriline’s service technician was able to visit before the annual event to conduct a full gate inspection and review, with part recommendations, future caution and a detailed report.

Steriline Racing was also able to start the Hawkesbury Cup, with Hawkesbury being able to accommodate members of the Steriline team. Seeing the starting gate in action on race days is always a great learning experience for Steriline, as we are able to gain any feedback and understand the load process and start even better.  This also was a great opportunity to catch up with the Digby Nuthall, Hawkesbury’s Racecourse Manager and our 2025 Scholarship Winner. 

Since Hawkesbury’s installation of their Platinum Model Steriline Starting Gate in 2024, Digby mentioned, “the back gates are super helpful and a lot safer, the height of them as well is great, as there were issues in the past when horses reared”.

We were also able to witness Digby out at the track and his great work, learning about how he intends to use his knowledge gained from Hong Kong Jockey Club. With Digby having applied two times before winning the scholarship last year, he strongly advises “for anyone interested to apply as there is always something to learn, no matter what track you are at”.
