Steriline Racing’s highly durable training gates are designed to help horses become comfortable and very familiar with the actual barriers they will jump from on race day. Given the number of our starting gates that are installed around the world, means that it is likely that one of these will be used for a thoroughbred’s very first race start.


Many options are available, in terms of size and configuration, to best suit a trainer’s specific needs. Training gates on wheels can be moved around the track from location to location, ideally mirroring race day conditions. Permanent or ‘ground mounted’, training gates can be located near stables, in a chute or close to the track. And stall widths can be readily varied.

In all cases, there is also the superior safety of Steriline Racing training gates. A quality that is supported by independent research, such as that conducted by the Bridgestone Laboratory, which shows that our stall padding is at least three times more effective than that used by others.

France Gallop, for example, has some of the world’s most highly stringent rider and horse safety requirements, all of which were fully met by the gates we installed at their noted Chantilly training facility.

Our designs additionally pay attention to horse behaviour. Certainly this comes from our racing industry experience. However, we have built on that by working closely with the Australian Equine Behavioural Centre’s principal horse psychologist Andrew McLean.
