Optional Extras
Steriline Racing Starting Gates are available with the following
optional extras;
Steriline Racing Remote Control Start
Steriline Racing’s remote control start system is a radio-controlled device that allows the starter to start the race via remote control and without having to unwind electrical cords across the racetrack. A starter’s lead is fitted to all Steriline Racing starting gates to provide the starter with a safety mechanism in the event of a remote control system failure. Another safety mechanism exists in the form of a cut-off switch which is situated on the cabinet at the front of the starting gate. A lever is also fitted to all Steriline Racing starting gates to provide the starter with a manual starting system. All of these safety mechanisms ensure the racehorses are always released from the starting gates.Steriline Racing Remote Recall System
Steriline Racing’s remote recall system is a radio-controlled device that allows the starter to activate a light and sound a warning, in the event of a false start, without having to unwind electrical cords along the racetrack. The remote recall system means there is no manual handling of electric cords and no risk of signal failure due to old or worn cables. The operation requires the tripod to be positioned at the required distance from the starting position. The starter then controls the light and siren by remote transmitter. The rolling code within the transmitter provides a high level of reliability as well as security. The remote recall system is not fitted to the starting gate.Steriline Racing Starter’s Catwalk
Steriline Racing’s starter’s catwalk is fitted to the front of the starting gate and is an alternative to the stand alone starter’s stand. The starter’s catwalk enhances the starter’s vision of each stall, and allows the starter to position him/herself at the front of the starting gate close to the horses and jockeys. The starter’s catwalk can be folded up for transportation on the starting gate to the next starting position on the racetrack.Steriline Racing Starter's Stand
This is an option in place of the starter’s catwalk. The starter’s stand has to be lifted and then hung on the starting gate prior to transportation. The suitability of the starter’s stand depends on the procedures of each individual starter. In some instances a starter prefers to be ten metres from the starting gate, and in this case the starter would require a starter’s stand.Steriline Racing Sponsorship Sign
A sponsorship sign allows information in the form of advertising or promotional material to be displayed on the starting gate. Sponsorship information can be interchanged between races by changing a series of wooden signs (to be supplied and painted by the race club). There are two different designs of sponsorship sign available: a fold down sign and a slide-in sign. Both sponsorship signs are positioned toward the top of the starting gate structure above the stall numbers. Sponsorship signs can generate additional revenue for the race club. The slide-in sign allows for rapid interchanges of sponsorship information and this design is adopted by the larger race clubs where different organisations sponsor different races. Sponsorship signs can also be purchased for the rear side of the starting gate.Hydraulic Steering
The hydraulic steering is fitted to the end opposite the towing end and is powered from the towing tractor via hydraulic breakaway couplings. Hydraulic steering dramatically increases the maneuverability of a starting gate; in particular the larger size gates.
