Working closely with our customers helps us tailor each of our major products to meet individual race club specifications and requirements.
It also means we are regularly asked for help in creating highly customised racecourse equipment.
Here, we draw on our design, engineering and manufacturing experience – as well as our knowledge of the racing industry – to produce solutions that fully meet specification.
For example:
- To enhance its award ceremonies, after major races, the Hong Kong Jockey Club wanted a prestigious but highly mobile presentation dais. This had to be quickly and simply moved onto the track, in front of the grandstand, and equally quickly removed. It was also essential that there would be no damage to the racing surface. Here we saw significant similarities to the manoeuvrability of our starting gates. Which we adapted to develop a presentation platform that precisely delivered what the HKJC required and which is now in regular use at its Sha Tin racetrack.
- With safety in mind, the Singapore Jockey Club, required a track-wide radio controlled warning system. A device that could be used to alert riders and others that they should quickly exit the training and racing area. Again, an analysis of our existing products determined how best this could be produced.
- For Qatar the product required was a specialised horse ambulance. Here, Steriline racing worked with an Australian horse float manufacturer and developed an effective vehicle that exceeded our customer’s expectations.
In all cases, we believe customisation is an important part of customer service and demonstrates our ‘can do’ approach.
